Terms of Use

Last updated October 2, 2026

In short: Tallgrass is a free tool for tracking Pokémon TCG collections, run by JOCO INC in Québec, Canada. Use it fairly, don’t abuse it, and remember that prices are estimates, not offers or advice. You keep your collection data; we only use it to run the service. We don’t own Pokémon or the cards. Québec law applies, and nothing here takes away the rights consumer protection law gives you.

The French version of this document prevails for users in Québec where the law requires it (Charter of the French Language). The English and Spanish versions are provided for convenience.

Who we are and what these terms cover

Tallgrass (tallgrass.io) is operated by JOCO INC, a company based in Québec, Canada (“we”, “us”). These Terms of Use apply to everyone who visits or uses the site, including the public card catalog, price estimates, collection tracking, binders, wishlists, public share links and CSV import/export.

Public sign-up and sign-in are currently closed while we prepare the launch. The sections about accounts will apply to you as soon as you create one.

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy, which form part of these terms.

Accepting these terms

By using Tallgrass, you agree to these terms. When accounts open, you will be asked to accept them when you create your account. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Who can use Tallgrass

  • Tallgrass is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account.
  • In Québec, if you are under 14, a parent or guardian must consent before you create an account. Elsewhere, if you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have your parent or guardian’s permission.
  • If we ever offer anything that involves a contract with financial obligations (for example a paid feature), you will need to be 18 or the age of majority in your province, state or country.

Your account and its security

Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth). We never see or store your password. Please:

  • give an email address you control and keep it up to date;
  • use a strong password that you don’t use elsewhere, and keep it private;
  • tell us promptly through the Contact page if you think someone else has accessed your account.

You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it results from our own fault. One person, one account: accounts are personal and may not be sold or transferred. Your username and display name must not impersonate someone else or infringe another person’s rights.

Acceptable use

We want Tallgrass to stay fast and pleasant for everyone. You agree not to:

  • scrape, crawl or download the site in a way that burdens it (high request rates, bulk downloads of pages or images), or use it to build a competing database;
  • reverse-engineer, probe or call our private (non-public) APIs directly, or try to get around rate limits, access controls or security measures;
  • put illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or infringing content in binder names, binder descriptions, notes, your display name or your username;
  • impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your connection with them;
  • use Tallgrass to spam, defraud or mislead others (for example with fake prices on a shared binder);
  • upload malware or anything designed to disrupt the service.

Normal personal use — browsing, searching, sharing links to pages, exporting your own data — is always welcome.

Your content and collection data

What you add to Tallgrass stays yours: the cards you own and their quantities, condition and grading, purchase prices, notes, binders, wishlists, sealed products, and the names and descriptions you write (“your content”).

You give JOCO INC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run Tallgrass for you — for example to show your collection back to you, to compute its value, or to display a binder on a public share link that you chose to create. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the short backup period described in the Privacy Policy.

Your collection is private by default. A binder becomes visible to others only if you share it; anyone with the link can then see it, and you can stop sharing at any time. You can export your data as a CSV file whenever you like.

You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to post it. We may remove or hide content that breaks these terms or the law.

Intellectual property

Pokémon material. Pokémon, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and all related names, card text, symbols and card images belong to Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. and The Pokémon Company (English cards from 1999 to 2003 were published by Wizards of the Coast). Tallgrass claims no ownership of this material and shows it only for identification and reference. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies. See our Legal notice & copyright page, which also explains how rights holders can ask us to remove material.

Our data. Tallgrass gathers card, price and sales data from a variety of data sources and APIs, then cleans, cross-checks and interprets it. Licences we rely on are listed on the Legal & credits page.

Our own material. The Tallgrass name and logo, the site’s design, code and original text belong to JOCO INC. You may not copy or reuse them beyond what the law allows (for example fair dealing) without our permission.

Prices are estimates

Prices and collection values on Tallgrass are estimates based on public market data from TCGplayer (USD), converted to CAD with European Central Bank reference rates. They are refreshed periodically and can be late, incomplete or wrong.

They are not an offer to buy or sell, not an appraisal (for insurance or anything else), and not financial or investment advice. Actual sale prices depend on condition, grading, demand, fees and platform. Please don’t rely on them alone for important decisions.

Links to other sites and our shop

Card pages link to marketplaces such as TCGplayer and eBay, and we may link to a separate shop run by the same owner. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and any purchase you make there is between you and them. Some links may become affiliate links; see our Affiliate & shop disclosure.

Availability and “as is” service

Tallgrass is free and is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or that the data is complete. We may change, add or remove features, and we may pause the service for maintenance.

To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties beyond those that the law says cannot be excluded. If you are a consumer in Québec, you keep all the rights and warranties given by the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec; nothing in these terms limits them. The same goes for mandatory consumer rights where you live.

We recommend exporting your collection to CSV from time to time so you always have your own copy.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, JOCO INC is not liable for:

  • decisions you make based on price estimates or collection values;
  • indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities;
  • content, products or transactions on third-party sites we link to;
  • interruptions or data loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

These limits do not apply where the law forbids them — in particular, we remain liable for bodily or moral injury we cause and for damage caused by our intentional or gross fault, and these limits do not reduce the rights of consumers under the Québec Consumer Protection Act or similar laws.

Closing an account

You can stop using Tallgrass at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). Export your data first if you want to keep it.

We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users or the service. Unless it would be unlawful or unsafe, we will tell you why and give you a reasonable chance to export your data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Tallgrass evolves or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes, we will give notice on the site — and, once account emails exist, by email to account holders — at least 30 days before they take effect, explaining what changes. If you don’t agree, you can close your account before then; continuing to use the site after that date means you accept the new version.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of Québec.

This does not take away the protection you have as a consumer under the law of the place where you live, including the right to bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence where that law provides it. Before going to court, please contact us — most issues can be settled quickly.

Language

These terms are available in French, English and Spanish. For users in Québec, the French version prevails where the Charter of the French Language requires it; the English and Spanish versions are provided for convenience. If you are in Québec, you acknowledge that you have been offered the French version first.
